After a quick drive to Newport I unpacked my wares at The Hobsons Bay Community Arts Centre, better known as ‘The Substation’. This market venue is incredibly stylish, well lit, protected from the elements and warm !
A heated venue – luxury.

It really is an iconic building and the market hosts the works of over 50 local artists.

This particular day coincided with the Newport Folk Festival. So, while there were lots of people most were there for the music, not shopping. Lots of lookers and few buyers but the atmosphere was wonderful and the compliments were plentiful. Despite the lack of sales it was a lovely way to spend a cold winter’s day.
