I had been waiting to get into this market for a while so expectations were relatively high. It was still winter, and although I was offered a full stall I opted to keep the 1/2 stall for my first time here. I had a tight space between ‘Mr.Moo’ and Kathy’s eclectic range of handmade clothing. And exactly opposite was the chocolate brownie stall – a temptation I managed to resist for several hours but . . .

my tableAs you can see, my little card table was as full as it could be.

And many people stopped by to say ‘hello’ and admire my handiwork.

It was a good market considering . . . the Council, in their infinite wisdom, had scheduled road works right outside the ballroom entrance. So of course the door had to be kept shut, and the noise was at times very unpleasant. But after a while we didn’t really notice it. Despite the rain, cold, wind, noise and restricted access waves of people came by all day long. It was another successful day…

So I’ll be back to join the exciting mix of very talented local folk and enjoy the chats with people from all over that find their way to this craft market tucked away in the Lithuanian Club’s quaint venue in North Melbourne.
